Douglas "Doug" Eugene Barber, age 66, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025 in Columbus, OH. Doug was born August 25, 1959 in Washington, MO. He was proud to declare he was from the "Show Me State." He retired after 26 years of service from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) where he proudly worked in highway maintenance. He loved spending time with his family. His ideal vacation was traveling to Arkansas to visit his loved ones as often as possible. He also loved to cheer on his Buckeyes, watch his westerns, and eat all kinds of food, especially BBQ, pizza, and Coca Cola. Doug is preceded in death by his father, Clifford Eugene Barber; mother and stepfather, Martha Kathleen and William Kidwell; dear aunt Mary Davenport; brother, Mark D. Barber. He is survived by his significant other of 34 years, Karen Glick; children, Douglas (Shellie) Barber II and Christina (Jim) Barber; stepdaughter, Erica (Gordon) Dye; 5 grandchildren, Jason, Anthony, Bristol, Addie, and Bud; 2 great grandchildren, Rayne and McKenzie; brothers, Billy, Craig, Kenny, Shawn, Shannon, Shane, Chris, and Tim; sisters, Kelly, Donna, Tina, and Sheila; he loved his numerous cousins and dear uncle Rayburn and aunt Judy; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, November, 18, 2025, from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. South Chapel, 1346 S. High St. in Columbus, OH. Mike Friedheim officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
