Douglas C. Faulkner's life's journey ended on January 15, 2014. Doug was born Dec. 12, 1931 in Stanton, Ky., the only child of Averitt and Thelma (Martin) Faulkner. Doug was proud to have served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Powell County High School and majored in broadcasting at the University of Kentucky. Doug spent thirty-seven years in broadcasting, early on as a personality on both radio and television before transitioning to sales and management at WXIX-TV, Cincinnati. His vivacious career came to a close at retirement as a marketing representative from WCMH-Chanel 4, Columbus. Doug was in his element acting and directing community theater in Dayton and Hamilton Ohio. After retiring he returned to the stage with the Dublin Senior Players. His need to give back was achieved through service clubs and volunteering. He was a proud grandpa, Kentucky Colonel and auctioneer. He found great pleasure in reading, woodworking and antiquing. Doug was a sensitive loving husband and father and a procrastinator extraordinaire. He leaves wife, Sandra; daughter, Gwenda (Kurt) Buckman of Rochester, NY; grandsons, Jad (Jamie) Buckman of Cincinnati and Joel (Jessica) Buckman of Falls Church, Va.; great-granddaughter and 2 great-grandsons. Doug left us with a garden of written stories of his life, his perspectives, and everyday happenings, a treasure of comfort, insight, and laughter. Visistation will be held Sunday, January 19, from 2 to 5 pm at O. R. WOODYARD NORTHWEST CHAPEL 2990 Bethel Rd. where funeral service will be held Monday at 10 am. Interment Woodside Cemetery in Middletown, Oh.
