Dr. Richard E. Baer, age 96, of Groveport, OH., passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at his residence. Graduated Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University Class of 1939. His career with the U.S. Department of Agriculture took him on assignments to Mexico and Puerto Rico for many years where he developed lifelong friendships. Preceded in death by parents Richard M. and Carolina (Tann) Baer, brothers Robert F. and Lawrence C. Baer, sister Loretta Tope. Survived by long time companion, Timothy Mathews (Roger Holmes); special friend, Octavio Aguirre of Florida; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, December 2 at the MYERS-WOODYARD FUNERAL HOME, 587 Main St. in Groveport followed by a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Graveside service will be Monday 12Noon at St. Joseph Cemetery.
