Dwight Edgar Ward, "Eddie", passed away at the age of 83 on July 6, 2016 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Born April 25, 1933 to the late Cary and Dovie Ward in Circleville, Ohio. He was married for almost 61 years to the recently deceased Ramona Ward. Eddie served in the Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He worked over 42 years in the meatpacking industry. A longtime resident of Groveport, Eddie also worked with Franklin County Children Services for over 35 years, fostering over 100 children. Eddie loved to hunt, fish, and was a master vegetable gardener. He was a member of TurnPoint Church. Eddie is survived by four children, Penny (Robert) Westerfelhaus of Charleston, SC; Dwight Jr. "Chunk" (Carmalee) Ward of Canal Winchester, OH; Cary Ward of Newalla, OK; and Brant (Alexandra) Ward of Reynoldsburg, OH; and grandchildren Larissa, Cary Jr., Dwight III, Caleb, Liam, London, Ty, Austin, Britton, Tiffany Freshour and Ashley Mavis. He is also survived by his sister Helen Vincent, Canal Winchester, OH. Friends may call at TurnPoint Church, 7718 Groveport Rd. Monday, July 11th, 5 to 8 p.m. and where the funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Joseph Arata II officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be directed to the American Heart Association, Kidney Foundation or TurnPoint Church in memory of Eddie.
