E. Avonell Holderdy Sutherland, age 94, of Columbus, Ohio , passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.  Born February 5, 1932, in Salyersville, Kentucky to Robert and Elsie (Holliday) Holderby.

Avondell is preceded in death by husband, Ruel Sutherland on November 16, 1989.  Parents, Robert and Elsie Holderdy, Columbus, Ohio; brothers, Leonidas Holderby, Columbus, Ohio; Nelson (Betty) Holderby, Salyersville, Kentucky

Avonell was saved at the age of 16 years in Kentucky. She spent her life serving God, going to church meetings with family and friends.

Surviving is her sister, Lois Wireman of Blanchester, Ohio; brother, Larry Neil and Allidean Holderby of Salyersville, Kentucky; nephews, Kenneth Holderby of Circleville, Ohio, Paul Wireman, Mike Wireman both of Blanchester, Ohio; Tony Holderby of Salyersville, Kentucky; neieces, Donna Sue Summon of Royalton, Kentucky, Bonnie Clemons, Brenda Dyer and Rita Blanton all of Salyersville, Kentucky.

Family will receive friends on Monday, August 3, 2026, at O. R. Woodyard S. High Chapel, 1346 S. High St., Columbus, Ohio, from 11 am until time of service at 1 pm.  Reverend John Hoover officiating.  Burial will follow at Obetz Cemetery.
