Eddie Dean Nickels Sr. of Columbus, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Friday April 12, 2024, after a long and extended battle with cancer. Eddie was born on August 19, 1948, in Martin Co Kentucky tothe late Clayton and Doshie Bailey Nickels. Eddie is preceded in death by his precious little grandson, baby John Haas; brother, Leo Workman; sisters, Rose Scholl and Sylvia Scarberry. Eddie retired from COTA Bus Transit after 35 years of service. After retiring Eddie enjoyed just being at home with his family, and in his spare time he enjoyed watching NASCAR and the Pro Rodeo.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife of 59 years Hazel Nickels. Eddie is also survived by his four children Eddie Dean Nickels Jr., Darrell Nickels, Brenda (Michael) Cremens, and Alice Haas; grandchildren, Michael (Taylor) Cremens Jr., Ashley Cremens, Eddie Dean Nickels III, Clayton (Victoria) Nickels, and JoJo Sauder; two precious great grandbabies, Luke Cremens and Emma Sauder; brother, Joe (Helen) Nickels,; sisters, Allene (Dennie) Hall and Beth Ann Nickels; special sister-in-law, Shirley Workman; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors, along with spacial friends, Bob, Kay, and George.

Visitation for Eddie will be Wednesday April 17, 2024, from 12:00 noon until time of service at 2:00 pm at O.R. Woodyard Co. South High Street Chapel. 1346 S. High St. Columbus, Oh. 43207. Robert Baker officiating.
