Obituary

Edna Mae Nierman, age 84, passed away on February 26, 2024. Born January 19, 1940, in Maitland, McDowell County, WV to the late George Edward Burks and Dora Belcher Burks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harlin E. Nierman, her 10-year-old son, David K. Nierman and sisters Judy Hughes and Irene England.  Those left to cherish her memory include children, Brian (Tina) Nierman, Greg (Karen) Nierman, Jeff (Pam) Nierman, Kathy Nierman-Humphrey, Lisa Nierman and a host of loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Fairley (Sandra) Burks, Tommy Burks and George Burks; sisters, Teresa Anderson, JoAnn Laipply and Maggie Burks; and extended family and many friends. Edna was a devout Christian and a longtime member of the Grove City Church of God.  She was a Secretary for Overcomer's Christian Academy, Berwick Church of God, she loved spending time with her family, travel, shopping, beach vacations and her beloved dog, Daisy.  Visitation will be held Thursday, February 29, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at O. R. Woodyard Co. South Chapel 1346 S. High St. with funeral services immediately following, with Pastor Randy Barr officiating. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
