Edward "Sam" Samuel Lawhead, age 64, left us and went home on October 18,2021. Born in Columbus, Ohio at The Ohio State University Hospital to the late John and Esther (Holmes) Lawhead. Preceded in death by sisters, Esther Swerlein and Janet Robinson. Sam is survived by daughter, Kristy (Steve); son, John (Beth); 5 step daughters; 7 granddaughters, Larissa, Samantha, Ciana, Willow, Keirstyn, Zoe and Emma; grandson, Seth; many step grandkids; sisters, Laura Rutherford and Dorothy Evans; brothers John and William Lawhead. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends, Lawrence "Bub" Marrioth, Vickie Russell, Wilma Edwards and many others because Sam knew no stranger. He loved his Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes, music, gathering with close friends drinking cold beer and scratching his lottery tickets. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and by a host of family members and old friends. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, at O.R. Woodyard Co. Chapel, 1346 South High Street, where service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. Reverend Katie Campbell officiating. Gravesite Service will immediately follow after at Glen Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be directly made to the funeral home for his final expenses.
