Edward W. Peppel, age 79, of Groveport, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023. He was born January 7, 1944 to the late Albert and Mary (Boney) Peppel. Upon graduation from Salem-Liberty School in Lower Salem, Ohio, Ed moved to southeast Columbus in the 1960s. He served in the Ohio Air National Guard from 1965 to 1977. He worked many years in the printing industry with focus on state of Ohio contracts. He was very proud of this work providing high quality pamphlets, magazines and other materials to the Department of Natural Resources, Motor Vehicles, and others. He was preceded in death by his wife Sandy Peppel of Reynoldsburg and his sister Wanda Peppel of Devola, Ohio. Ed is survived by his children, Deanna (Todd) Osborne of Sunbury, Ohio; Chris (Elena) Peppel of Alexandria, Virginia; grandchildren Nathan and Logan Osborne; sisters Dorothy Peppel and Faye Goff, as well as other family and dear friends. Ed was a lifelong Mason at Groveport Masonic Lodge #240 (later Groveport-Lockbourne Masonic Lodge #801). He was also an active member of Ohio AMVETS Post 2000, where he enjoyed playing the Queen of Hearts and telling stories and jokes (maybe more than once!). Ed requested no service; his family and friends have elected to remember him at the next Lodge breakfast (5905 Saltzgaber Road) the morning of Saturday, May 20 – all who attend will have breakfast on Ed.
