WILLIAMS Elbert W. WIlliams Sr., age 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 26, 2011. He was born on July 17, 1930 in Mobile, Alabama to the late Preston and Cleomontz Williams. His wife Neta C. Williams preceded him in death. Elbert is a proud U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, from which he recieved 3 Bronze Stars. He retired from DSCC in 1995. He was especially devoted to his beloved fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha and recieved his 50-year pin in February, 2011. Elbert was a member of the American Legion Post 490. Elbert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, teacher, and friend. His children, Dr. Felicia Williams-Jackson and Elbert W. Williams, Jr.; grandchildren, Raymond Lee Galloway III and Naiya Damaris Galloway; eight great grandchildren; brothers, nieces and nephews survive him. Friends may call on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the WOODYARD EAST CHAPEL, 2300 E. Livingston Ave. in Bexley, OH. The funeral service will be Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 1 p.m.at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 333 South Drexel Ave. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Elbert's memory be made to the Alpha Rho Lambda Education Foundation. Remarks: Alpha Esquires.
