Elisha Jobe Jr., "Joby" age 95, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, November 22, at the Kobacker House. He was born in Kermit, WV, and moved to Columbus with his siblings as a young man.
Elisha was a US Army Korean War Veteran. He had a talent for working on cars which led to his posting in the motor pool in Korea where he was able to expand his knowledge.
After the war, Elisha returned and went to work as an electrician for the Pennsylvania Railroad where he was employed until he retired.
Elisha expressed an amazing zest for life. He loved Hillbilly music, pretty cars and pretty women. He was also a storyteller with a great range of adventurous life experiences to draw from. Jr. was preceded in death by his parents Maxine and Elisha, his siblings, Virginia Osendott, Jack Jobe, Helen Brewer and Rose Osendott, and grandson Bobby Brooks.
He is survived by his daughters, Diane Jobe (husband Robert Hancock), of Denver, CO and Judy Brooks of Ludowici, GA, grandson Bryan Brooks of Ludowici, GA., his loving long-time partner Ester Pennington and brother Frank Jobe of Milan, Oh. and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Saturday, December 7th, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the OR Woodyard Funeral Home at 1346 S. High St, Columbus, South Chapel. The burial will take place in Louisa, KY at a later date.
