Elizabeth "Bette" (Jones) Fitzsimmons, 93, was born February 24, 1932 in Everton, Liverpool, UK and passed away April 23, 2025 in Canal Winchester, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Jones, her mother, Dorcas Millicent (Stoner-Jones) McCormick, brother, Robert Jones, and husband, Robert E. Fitzsimmons. Elizabeth is survived by their three children Michael (Patricia) Fitzsimmons, Dorcas Fitzsimmons, and Robert (Allison) Fitzsimmons, 8 Grandchildren, and 13 Great Grandchildren. Bette grew up in the atmosphere of WWII, being evacuated to homes in Wales, UK- away from Liverpool on two occasions. After the war was over, Bette had the opportunity to go to London, to train and work at the Royal Hospital and Home for the Incurables. It was during this happy time that Bette met a young US Air Force man -who became the love of her life, and they were married in 1952.

Bette worked and volunteered at Mercy Hospital on the south side of Columbus, and Children's Academy until she was 70. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, watching older movies, and growing flowers, tomatoes & sunflowers. Bob and Bette were committed to their family, and instilled many good character traits including working hard, being resourceful and thrifty.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025, 10:00 am until the time of funeral service at 12:00 Noon  at Myers-Woodyard Funeral Home 587 Main Street, Groveport, Ohio
