Ella Gertrude Hamilton, age 84 , lovingly known as Gert, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025 at the age of 84. She was surrounded by loved ones as she crossed over, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and love.

Born on August 15, 1940, in Floyd County, Kentucky, to German Meade and Lillie Hamilton, Gertrude was a devoted wife, mother, mamaw, grannie, aunt, and friend. She made everyone feel welcome, always greeting you with a smile and a fresh cup of coffee—or your favorite food, just the way you liked it.

She is survived by her children, Bill Hamilton and Pam (Greg) Keathley, grandchildren Jessi (Chris) Hamilton, Ashley (Caleb) Maynard, Sarah Hammond, Zack (Caitlin) Keathley, Brett (Samantha) Hamilton, Hannah Keathley, great-grandchildren Lilly, Resse, Brooklyn, Knox, Brayden, Ryan, Nora, Rayna, special nieces Mae and Gail, dog Spanky, as well as a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Ishmul of 59 years, daughter Patty, great-grandchild Logan, sisters Olive, Imogene, Linda, and brother Burnis.

Family and friends may gather for visitation on March 7, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at O.R. Woodyard South Chapel 1346 S. High St. where Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am.

Though she may be gone, her love will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her—along with the memory of her, loving all the kids and babies, rooting on her Buckeyes and Wildcats, and always taking care of others.
