Ellen "Jean" Smith, passed away from this life on Monday, May 19, 2014, at the Pickering House surrounded by her loving family. Jean was preceded in death her parents, Virginia and O'Neil Hersman, her sisters, Sandy Ward and Sue Allen and brother Chad Hersman. Jean is survived by her Loving Husband Syd, son Raymond, daughters, Crystal and Brandy, brother Neil Hersman, sisters Bonnie (Dennis)Dodson, Teresa (Jim) Debolt and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jean was an avid dart player, computer gamer and a huge Elvis fan. Our trip to Graceland was a favorite memory she loved to share. Her greatest enjoyment was her family. She never failed to light up from family visits and gatherings, especially those from a grandchild. A very special Thank You to the Pickering House, especially her nurse Karen Starner who helped make the last days and hours peaceful and a time for all of us to come together as family and remember our beloved Jeanie. Family will have a Memorial Service at a later date. The family suggests donations be made to the Pickering House in memory of Jean.
