YATES Elsie E. Yates, 70, of Columbus, passed away February 9, 2014 at Grant Medical Center with family by her side. Born April 21, 1943 in Columbus, OH. Preceded in death by parents, Opal and Fred Nixten , baby Michael Allen Yates, siblings, Freddie Nixten and Dorothy Gilliam. Survived by spouse of 54 years, Gordon Yates; sons, Edward (Tonya) and Timothy (Lisa) Yates; daughters, Rita (Terry) Dillon and Lisa (Robert) Everts, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Joshua, Joseph (Rhonda) Easterday; Jay, Brittany, Tara, Tim (Christine) Yates and Jody (Josh) Knapp; great grandchildren, Mason, Haley, Debra, Jacob, Jailyn, Malaysia, Sophie, Kaylee and Shiann. All of whom she loved dearly. Also survived by aunt, several nephews and close friends. Retired from General Motors. Member of Southwest Baptist Church. Elsie lived with many years of chronic pain, coupled with diabetes and dialysis. Many of those days she kept the tensity of pain to herself as not to burden others. The family deeply wishes to thank the staff of Ohio Health Hospice, Home Reach, Grant Medical Center, Grant Park Dialysis, Regency Hospital, Scioto Community and staffs of Dr. Wanko, Dr. Shah, Dr. Burdge, Dr. Kusumi, Dr. Hajinazarian and Dr. Rankine for their care they showed our mother the last 10 yrs. The angels have wonderfully taken mom to Heaven, but she will be forever in our hearts until we meet again. Arrangements entrusted to O. R.
