Emma Jean Rivas age 71, of Groveport Ohio passed away the morning of July 8th, 2026. She was born to the late Amos & Gladys Maynard on September 18, 1954.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Nona (Jesse) Cervantez, Marcella (John) Bertling, Irene (Ben) Spitler; sister-in-law, Melody "Bunny" Maynard and grandson, Charles "Bubby" Maynard Jr.

She is survived by her very loving husband of 51 years, Robert Rivas; her brothers, Gene Maynard, Harlan (Deb) Maynard, Jim (Ida) Porter, and Greg (Lou) Porter;  her children, Charles (Bridget) Maynard, Bob (Chrystal) Rivas, Leslea Reinhardt and Isabella Mollette; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Maynard, Kalani Maynard, Jameson Coverdale and Oakley Coverdale; her great-grand children, Daisy Maynard, Emmarie Maynard and Luna Maynard; also many nieces, nephews and friends.

Emma loved her family immensely! Her happiness and joy was being a mother- and most especially a grandmother. She enjoyed her flower garden and finding new blooms to add to her creation. She once loved fishing and would go whenever she could! She greatly enjoyed antiqued treasures and going hunting for them. She loved Ohio State Football, UK Wildcats and the Dallas Cowboys!

We are not saying goodbye- but rather see you later Mom. With all the love, time, patience and effort she poured into all of us,  we have been blessed to have her. Each day we will carry you with us, from now to eternity. Rest easy Momma we all love you so much!

Visitation will be Friday, July 17, 2026 from 11 am until time of the funeral service at 1 pm at the Groveport Zion Lutheran Church

6014 Groveport Road, Groveport, OH. 43125. Interment will follow in Franklin Hills Memory Gardens Cemetery, Canal Winchester.
