Emmett Glen Horn, aged 85 passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025 at his home in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family. Emmett was born on August 12, 1939 in Williamson, WV, the son of William James & Myrtle (Mills) Horn, who both predeceased him. Emmett was a devoted family man who was one month shy of celebrating his 64th wedding anniversary with his beloved wife, Lucille (Goble) Horn. She survives him, along with their four children, daughter Deidrea Amsbaugh of Marysville; son Kevin (Michelle) Horn of West Jefferson; Marty Horn (Monica Mills) of Columbus; and Tonya (Chad) Lewis of Lewis Center. He is also survived by grandchildren Michael (Kelly) Amsbaugh; Sabre (Dom) Novello; Shara (Andy) Caldwell; Travis (Kadie) Amsbaugh; Brian Horn (Brook Matney); Jason (Allie) Horn; Marissa Horn; Saylor (Robert) Waterhouse; Camen Cline; and Laykin Cline; as well as 11 great-grandchildren (soon to be 13) and many nieces nephews and friends.

Having grown up in Turkey Creek, Kentucky, with his eight brothers and sisters, Emmett went on to graduate from Inez High School in 1958. Seeking employment, he moved to Columbus and quickly became an associate of Westinghouse, where he served as a union steward with IUE Local 746 for many years. After thirty years with Westinghouse, he moved to Keystone Powdered Metal where he worked for fifteen years and then retired to become "Pap" full-time. Emmett derived tremendous joy from raising his big, beautiful family, coaching his boys little league, following UK basketball and their recruiting classes, fishing, swinging on his back porch, and being a faithful member of Good Shepherd Community Church for over thirty years. In addition to his parents, Emmett was preceded in death by his brothers Darrell and Ronnie Horn, and his sister Alfretta Bond and her husband Ralph Bond, and is survived by brothers Roger, Scott (Sheila) and Bill Horn; sisters Janice (Allen) Steele, Brenda (Don) Blair, sisters-in-law Karen Horn Bledsoe and Lois Horn.

Funeral arrangements were made through O.R. Woodyard Funeral Home 1346 S. High St. Columbus, OH 43207. A funeral service will be held at Good Shepherd Community Church 210 Obetz Rd. Columbus, OH 43207 on Friday June 13, 2025 at noon, visitation will be at the church an hour before the service. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Fernwood Cemetery 460 Rowe Rd. Lockbourne, OH 43137. The family would like to thank family, friends and the church for the wonderful support they have had throughout Emmett's sickness and want to especially thank Capital City Hospice, all staff were so kind and considerate as they helped care for Emmett.
