Obituary

Farret Lee Tabor born November 20th, 1934, and passed from this life on October 27, 2024, to go to the place he's "always been living for". Lee obtained his transfer early Sunday morning surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren singing songs of praise and worship, and songs about heaven. Lee is survived by his wife of 54 years Charlotte (Massie) Tabor, Children, Faron (Rhonda) Tabor Sr., Sharon (Randy) Nelson, Tim (Beth) Tabor, Carolyn (Mike) Stuller and Crista (G.W.) LeMaster, 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, sisters Geneva Pirog and Shirley Hopper and brother Len (Linda) Tabor as well as a host of family and friends. Lee was preceded in death by his wife Juanita (Massie) Tabor, parents Reverend Leonard Tabor and Martha (Baker) Tabor, stepmother "Tommie" Tabor, brothers Ralph Tabor, and Ron Tabor, sisters Opal DeBord, Lucille McGinnis, Macine Brown, and in laws Leonard and Stella Massie. Lee was a long-time pastor and evangelist serving as an ordained minister in the Churches of Christ in Christian Union for over 60 years traveling throughout the Midwest and eastern US preaching and singing with his family. He pastored three congregations in Columbus, Ohio: Joan Heights, Central Avenue and Grace Ministries (now Capital City Church). If you knew him, you knew how much he loved. He loved his wife, he loved his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Lee loved his friends and even loved people he had never met. He was never shy about telling people that he loved them, but he REALLY loved JESUS. If you ever crossed his path, he wanted to tell you what a difference Jesus made in his life and wanted Him to do the same for you. Lee came from a rich heritage of Christian faith and ministry. His father Rev. Leonard Tabor was a traveling evangelist and pastor, and the family sang together. Lee continued that heritage when he started the Tabor Family Quartet, followed by a Third and Fourth generation of Tabor Family gospel singers. Lee's legacy lies in his faithful service to the kingdom of God which has now passed on through his family and the many lives impacted. You may join the family for viewing on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024, from 4:00 pm -7:00 pm at Capital City Church 464 Rathmell Road, Lockbourne, Ohio 43137. A Celebration Service will be Monday, November 4th at 10:30 am at the same location (9:30 am additional viewing time).
