Fikret Kutlu, age 97, of Upper Arlington, passed away on Thursday September 5th, 2024. Fikret was married to Nurettin Kutlu in 1949 until his passing in 2010. Fikret was born October 22, 1926 in Ankara, Türkiye daughter of Ethem and Hatice Bor and moved to the Columbus area in 1956. Fikret was an artisan seamstress specializing in wedding dresses and dressmaking for generations of families in Columbus for over 50 years.

Fikret is survived by her sister Şükran Akbay, children Gulhan Kutlu, Filiz (Ibrahim) Kayali, Sinan "Tony" (Michelle) Kutlu, grandchildren Aliya (Drew) Rochowiak, Arin Kutlu, Taner Kutlu, and great-grandson Cameron Rochowiak. Fikret was preceded in death by her siblings Şükret Aksaray, Ayhan Bor, İlhan Bor, husband Nurettin, and infant great-grandson Brady Rochowiak.

The calling hours for Fikret will be Saturday September 7th, 9:30 - 10:30am at O. R. Woodyard Funeral Home, 2990 Bethel Rd., Columbus, Ohio. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association in Fikret Kutlu's name.
