**Finley Edwin Thompson**, age 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 6, 2024. He was born on April 1, 1946, in Louisa, Kentucky. A retired Teamster and proud U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in Vietnam as a flight mechanic. Operating Thompson Monument for many years. Edwin found great joy in spending time with his great-grandchildren, collecting coins, fishing, old movies, loved mowing with his Snapper riding mower, and trying his luck with the lottery, lastly spoiling his puppies Banjo and Bandit.

Edwin is preceded in death by his father and mother, Finley and Ethel Thompson; brother, Rick Thompson, and wife, Bonnie. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Jennifer (John) Heslop and Melissa (Richard) Wright; step-daughter, Kim Kazee; adopted grandson, Mason Thompson (Katy); his grandchildren, Jesse (Jasmine) Heslop, Joshua (Shiann) Heslop, Megan Wilkinson, Makenzie and Marissa Heslop; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Jesse Heslop Jr., Jersey Heslop, and Josh Heslop Jr.; siblings, Liz (Jim) Plageman, Linda (Dick) Lyerla, Kevin (Michele) Thompson, and Shelly Thompson. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation at O. R. Woodyard Co. South High Street Chapel, 1346 S. High Street, Columbus, Ohio, on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A chapel service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 10:00 am.
