Franklin Curtis Falks - On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, GOD gently took his hand and welcomed him home. After a lengthy battle with COPD, GOD gently took his hand and welcomed him home, he was 82 years old. He was born on Tuesday, March 9, 1943 at home in Macon County, Georgia. By the time his birth certificate was officially recorded in Macon County the date was as Wednesday, March 10, 1943.

He was the second child and the oldest son of seven children born to F C Fulks and Mary Lee (Loyd) 'Beauty" Fulks, called "Moi" by her children.

Frank was baptized into the body of Jesus the Christ at the Deer Park Church of Christ in Ramdallstown, Maryland by his uncle "Donnie" Elmer Sembly II, at the Deer Park Church of Christ, Randallstown, Maryland.  He obeyed the Gospel on Saturday - June 14,2007 and was baptized and was added to the Lord's Church.  He faithfully served GOD and remained a servant of GOD throughout his life.

His life was devoted to his family and dedicated to serving others. He graduated from Howard W. Blake High School in Tampa, Florida. He attended Joplin Community College in Joplin, Missouri, and later graduated from Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa in 1973 where he studied Biology. On Saturday, June 22, 1968, Frank married the love of his life, Carol Anne (Grant) Falks, at the Huntington Church of Christ on Long Island, New York. Their marriage was a testament to love, faith, and partnership.

Frank's collegiate football coaching career spanned over 25 years and included positions at ten colleges.

1964 - Joplin Junior College - Joplin, Missouri

1965 - Parsons College - Fairfield, Iowa

1970 - Kansas State University (KSU ) - Manhattan, Kansas

1973 - The University of Arkansas, Arkansas's first Black Coach.

1977 - The University of Wyoming, Laramie, Wyoming

1980 - THE San Diego State University (SDSU), San Diego, California

1981 - Oklahoma State University (OSU), Stillwater. Oklahoma

1983 - The University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California

1988 - The Arizona State University (ASU), Phoenix, Arizona

1991 - His final collegiate team was with The Ohio State University(OSU) - "the Buckeyes", Columbus, Ohio

Throughout his career, he participated in numerous bowl games, including the Alamo Bowl, Aloha Bowl, Citrus Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Gator Bowl, Holiday Bowl, Independence Bowl, Liberty Bowl, Orange Bowl, Peach Bowl, Rose Bowl, and Sun Bowl.

He also coached internationally in Tokyo, Japan and Berlin, Germany.

From 1989 to 2005, Frank also coached in the National Football League (NFL).  In 1994 he coached in the XXIX Super Bowl in which the San Diego Chargers faced off against the San Francisco 49ers. During his time in the NFL, the Detroit Lions reached the playoffs in 1997 and 1999, and the St Louis Rams reached the playoffs in 2003 and 2004.  He finished his football coaching career and retired in 2005. Frank was known as a knowledgeable coach and an excellent teacher who made a lasting impact on countless athletes and colleagues.

Frank was very active at the Genesee Avenue Church of Christ, where he and his wife Carol served as the co-coordinators of the Senior Ministry, "Golden Wisdom," for ten years. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Betty Jean (Falks) McGriff; and his brothers - Bobby Fulks, Grady Louis Falks, and Milton Falks.

Frank leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Carol Anne (Grant) Falks;  his son, Michael Curtis Falks;  his granddaughters, Shaela Monaé Falks and Shaelyn Marie Falks;  his daughter, Raegan Carol Falks;  and his grandson, Anthony Curtis Falks. His sister Christine Elizabeth (Falls) Houston;  His brother Eddie James Fulks.  He also leaves his nephew Cary Keith Falks many other loved nephews, nieces, cousins, his brother-in-law Harold Jerome Grant and wife Sherry (Harris) Grant of Bear, Delaware, and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 7 from 1:00 pm until the time of his Homegoing Celebration at 2:00 pm at Genessee Avenue Church of Christ, 1889 Genessee Avenue. Arrangements entrusted to O R Woodyard Northwest Chapel.
