Frederick Leroy
Gischler
Jul 13, 1935 — Jan 5, 2026
'Freddy' Gischler, age 90, passed away in Dublin, Ohio on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Mount Carmel Dublin. Fred was born on July 13, 1935, to the late Frederick F. and Ethel R. Gischler in Columbus, Ohio where he lived his entire life. After graduating from East High School, Fred joined the United States Air Force before going to work at the Frito-Lay Company. Later in his career, he was employed at the Anheuser-Busch Brewing Company, from which he retired. Fred is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Betty Jane Gischler. Fred is survived by his daughters; Elizabeth Condopoulos and Victoria (David) Farler; son, Frederick (Deborah) Gischler; grandsons, Matthew (Ati) Farler, Christopher Gischler, Ian (Molly) Farler, and Thomas Gischler; granddaughter, Lauren (Cameron) Taylor; and great-grandchildren Myla, Lucas, and Shade Farler. Fred was an active member of the Aladdin Shrine for most of his adult life and participated in multiple units and clubs within the organization. However, being a member of the clown unit as "Hobo Freddy" and driving children in need of healthcare to Shriners Children's Hospitals as a Roadrunner was near and dear to his heart. When Fred was not participating within the shrine, he enjoyed attending car shows, visiting Gatlinburg, watching Gunsmoke, sitting on his back patio listening to good music with a cigar in one hand and a glass of wine in the other and most importantly spending time with his family which hopefully included eating ice cream.
In accordance with Fred's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. If you would like to stop by and have a piece of pizza from Fred's favorite pizza joint, the family will be gathering at the Pizza Cottage – Pickerington (1000 Old Diley Rd., Pickerington, OH) from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 11, 2026. Donations can be made in Fred's memory to the Shriners Children's Hospitals at https://www.shrinerschildrens.org/en/ways-to-give
Pfeifer Woodyard Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
