Gail Anne Wagner, 83, from Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 25th, 2026 at the Inn at Winchester Trails in Canal Winchester, Ohio. Born on January 28th, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois to Alfred Thomas and Charlotte Allert, Gail grew up in Chicago Illinois, Coloma Michigan and Pittsburg California and graduated from Pittsburg High School in Pittsburg, California. Gail met Charles in Pittsburg and they were married in March 1962. She went on to work at K-Mart Retail for over 30 years.
Gail spent 49 amazing years with Charles Wagner and is finally reunited with him.
Gail was known for her quick wit and a natural ability to make people laugh, bringing warmth and lightness to even the most ordinary moments. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies for many years, volunteered at the California Welcome Center, loved bingo, playing board games and cards with friends, traveling with her husband around the world, water aerobics and especially listening to Elvis.
Gail is survived by children Ronald Wagner, Kenneth (Maria) Wagner, and Daniel (Melissa) Wagner; Grandchildren Kenneth Wagner Jr., Jessi (James) Harper, David Wagner, Chris Wagner, Sarah (Vincent) Brausch, Katelynn Wagner; six great grandchildren and one unborn great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred Thomas and Charlotte Allert; husband Charles Wagner; and sister Julie Spelich.
A Funeral service will be held on August 10, 2026 at 10 am at The Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Canal Winchester, Ohio. and will be buried at the Groveport Cemetery with her husband Charles.
