Garell Austin Durst "Gomez," age 63, born July 3, 1962, passed away Thursday July 3, 2025 in Columbus, OH. Gomez is preceded in death by parents, Clarence and Elva Durst; daughter, Ariane Parsons; granddaughter, Breeanna Gatwood; and father-in-law, Robert Parsons Sr. He is survived by his wife, Wendy Durst; daughters, Heather Lamb and Michelle (Jeremy) Cline; his boys, John III, Jackson (Kayli), and Jayden; grandchildren, Codie (Caitlin), Courtney (Gabe), Hailee (Jake), Emilee, Camran, and Hannah; great grandchildren, Corbin, Caroline, Corie, Jordan, Layla, Taylor, and Lacy; mother-in-law, Rosemary Parsons; aunts, Hazel Brummond and Jackie Sizemore; siblings, James Durst, Don Durst, Glenvor (Pam) Durst, Marvin (Melanie) Durst, Marsha McClure, Bonnie Durst, Carolyn (Rob) Humphreys; numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly as well as many friends who he cherished. Visitation for Gomez will be Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 4 p.m. until time of prayer service at 7 p.m. at the O.R. Woodyard Co. South Chapel, 1346 S. High St. in Columbus. Additional visitation and funeral service will be held Friday, July 11, 2025 from 2 p.m. until time of funeral service at 4 p.m. at Baden Presbyterian Church, 5149 Evans Rd. in Leon, WV 25123. He will be laid to rest in the Baden Presbyterian Church Cemetery following the funeral.
