George Louis Sauter, age 72, of Upper Arlington, unexpectedly passed away Friday, July 4, 2014 while in Greece. George was born in the village of Electra, Messinia, Greece where he lived until the age of 17. He is the son of the late Reverend Christon and Evgenia Makkas, and Louis and Addie Sauter. He is also preceded in death by his brother-in-law Demitri Reppas and brothers-in-law Arthur and Peter Kehagias. George was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, The 50 Plus group, Neo Kyma Messinias and founder of Buckeye Donuts. George was a kind, generous, soul who loved life. He dedicated his life to loving and supporting his family. He brought joy to all those he met. His true happiness was in the arms of his grandchildren, the village he loved and being with family and friends. George will be deeply missed by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Anastasia Kehagias Sauter; sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Kendra, Louis and Stacey, and James and Jessica Sauter; grandchildren, Judy, George, Chris, Demi, George, Michael, and Anastasia Sauter; brother, Louis (Eleni) Makkas; sisters, Theodora Reppas, Vasiliki (Theodore) Apostolakos, Efstathia (Costa) Mbouras; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2014 at O.R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 2990 Bethel Rd,, where a Trisagion Prayer Service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 555 N. High St. Interment Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions made in George's memory to The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 555 N.
