George James Sicaras, 83, passed away on April 29, 2017 peacefully at home. Born November 22, 1933 in Tripoli, Greece in the village of Kollines. He married Phyllis Voulgaris on the Greek island of Evia. George will be greatly missed by his wife, Phyllis; son, James; daughter-in-law, Kristina; grandsons, George, Elias and Alexandros; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding him in death were his mother Anastasia Stamatopoulos, his father James Sicaras, his sisters Dina Kokkoris and Irene Barouxis, and his brother John Sicaras. George came to America in 1951 and in 1955 he joined the U.S. Army where he served two years in Alaska, 2nd Infantry. He owned the Blue Danube Restaurant from 1957 to 1981. George was also a true visionary and started investing in real estate. His life was blessed through hard work and devotion to his family and Church. One of his great passions was philanthropy. George was grateful to be in this country and in his own words he said: "I want to thank my wonderful family and priceless friends that were by my side to the end. I also want to thank my doctors Dr. Brent Behrens, Dr. Peter Kourlas and their staff, Dr. Terry Irwin, Dr. Craig Hofmeister and last but not least, I sincerely thank Dr. Tasos Manokas, the doctor "next door" that was there for me day and night. I leave with a light heart, I have no regrets and I was privileged to be in this country. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS. EVERYONE IN MY LIFE."
