Gladys McDowell Young, age 93, went to be with the Lord on August 12, 2014 in Columbus, OH. Born August 6, 1921 at Blaine, KY, to Mary Alice McDowell. Gladys retired from R. G. Barry Shoe Company. In her younger days she taught Sunday School and actively participated in Ladies Auxiliary at her church. She has attended the Westerville Free Will Baptist church for 30 years. Before Alzheimers, Gladys faithfully looked forward to her morning devotions and her prayer list. She was a prayer warrier. She loved her children and grandchildren who loved her very much. Preceded in death by husband Henry S. Young; son Rod Young, grandson, Michael Andrew Jebavy, son-in-law Michael P. Jebavy, sister Goldia McDowell Cordle. Survived by children: Rev. Harold (Charlotte) Young and daughters Regenia (Gene) Castle , Sharon Jebavy and daughter-in-law, Nancy Young Grandchildren: Steve (Kim), and Tim (Heather) Young, Lori Young, , Rebekah (Scott) Kuhnheim, Mindy (Reuben) Nicola, Angela (Donny) Barnard and Molly (Brandon) Cromer, Jonathan (Stefani) Jebavy, Riley (Kristin) Young. Great- grandchildren: Stephen (Steph) Young, Zakk Young, Ashley Young, Kailey Kuhnheim , Michael Alexander Jebavy, Zachary Castle and James Nicola, Lindsey Barnard, Mackenzie and J.R. Young. Services and visiting hours will be held at The Westerville Free Will Baptist Church on Thurs August 14 from 5-8pm and funeral will be held at 10:30am on Friday August 15, at 390 E. College in Westerville, OH. Pastor Mike Mounts , Pastor Paul Etterling, and Rev. Edwin Hayes officiating. Burial at Marengo Cemetery.
