Gustavo "Gus" Villar Lambruschini, age 66, passed away Monday, January 20, 2020 at his residence in Columbus, OH. Gus was born September 30, 1953 in Lima, Peru to his mother Hulda Iris Lambruschini Pardo and late father Alfredo Ciro Villar Igreda. He graduated with a Bachelors of Art Degree from Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, NC and also graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Science. He was self-employed for many years as a technical translator. He had keen interest in wind power from a young age and had a very inquisitive mind and loved to spend his time innovating, designing and building. One of his notable projects was the sail car that he built when he was young to use at the beach where he grew up. His passion for windmills and wind power continued throughout his entire life. In his later life he developed more passions for carpentry, cooking and gardening. Gus is survived by his wife of 44 years, Peggy Villar O'Neil; daughter, Alicia "Lisi" Villar Jernigan and her husband Lewis Jernigan; siblings, Juan (Gaby) Villar, Luis (Patty) Villar, Guillermo (Linda) Villar and Rosario Del Pilar and her husband David Salmon; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Friends and family may call Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the O.R. Woodyard Co. Northwest Chapel, 2990 Bethel Rd. in Columbus, OH 43220 from 10 a.m. until time of memorial service at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, family encourages memorial contributions be made in Gus Villar's memory to the Hilliard Ohio Bobcats Special Olympics Team at 2140 Atlas St. Columbus, OH 43228.
