Harold Thomas "Tom" Upperman, age 85, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025 at his home in Groveport, OH. Tom was born in Reese, OH to the late Harry and Martha (Mercer) Upperman. Tom worked for 20 years at Buckeye Steel and later retired after 15 years of service with the Groveport Madison School District. He was an avid Cleveland Indians Fan. He was a longtime member of the Wonderers Camping Club and the Columbus Rock and Mineral Society. He enjoyed traveling in his camper looking for rocks and minerals in Deming, NM. He enjoyed cutting his own gems into jewelry. Tom is preceded in death by his father, Harry T. Upperman and mother and stepfather, Martha R. and Charles "Charlie" Frank; siblings, Carl Mercer, Warren Lee Upperman, and Joyce Kaye Upperman. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jackie Upperman; children, Michael T. (Linda) Upperman and Sharyn (Jon) Mastel; grandchildren, Kaylie (David) Altman, Zakeri (Natasha) Mastel, Alexys Mastel; several great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. Visitation for Tom will be Monday, March 17, 2025 from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at the MYERS-WOODYARD FUNERAL HOME, 587 Main St. in Groveport, OH. Pastor Richard Birk officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens, Canal Winchester, OH.
