One of the best men who walked this earth went to be with Jesus on Saturday, July 20, 2024. Harold Edward Worrix was born in Pikeville, KY on 08/02/1938 to John and Hettie Worrix. He was number 5 in a total of 14 kids. As a kid his chore was to split firewood, a skill he used most of his life. He thought it was funny that his older brother Bill got the chore to feed the chickens. He enjoyed running around with Bill and their older brother John, the three musketeers, in McArthur, Ohio. When he was a teen the family relocated to the south side of Columbus, OH. He graduated from Marion Franklin High School. He started college at the Ohio State University. He was drafted into the Army and it put his college dreams on hold. During this time he had met the love of his life, Patricia Bivens. They were introduced by Patty's best friend Valceeda, who was dating Harold's brother John. They met in a Sunday School class taught by Mrs. Burson at the Church of Christ in Christian Union on Reeb Avenue. Harold went off to the Army at Fort Hood, Texas. When he was able to come home to Ohio for a short break, Harold & Pat eloped to Michigan with John and Valceeda as their witnesses. Harold headed right back to the Army and Pat joined him shortly afterwards in Texas. He was a tank driver while in the army and also got special duty driving officers around. He was sent to Georgia to prepare for the Cuban Missile Crisis. He would tell you he was scared and grateful when it was over. President Kennedy addressed the troops when they got off the ship, but the military band played over his talk as they didn't know he was speaking. They were blessed the next year while living in Texas with their first son, Terry (Cindy) Worrix. Once he was out of the military and they had settled back in Ohio they were blessed with their first daughter Robin (Bill) Arnett. Harold finished his schooling at Franklin University while working full time for Xerox. Once he got his accounting degree he worked in their accounting department working for them for over 35 years. Harold and Pat expanded their family over the years having a total of 5 kids, Tim (Tracy) Worrix, Beth (Mike) Amburgey and the baby of the family Carrie (Mark) Sussex.

Harold loved to be outside working in his yard and was an avid gardener like his father was. He also enjoyed tax season as he prepared taxes for over 50 years. Many of his clients if they weren't family, became like family to him. He enjoyed catching up with them each year.

More than anything else he enjoyed going to Church. He was baptized at the young age of 83. Reading Matthew 3:16 & 17 to the congregation before stepping into the baptismal and declaring Jesus Christ as his personal savior, that had forgiven him of his sins and he would live for him all the days of his life. Next to Jesus he loved Pat who he was married to for 59 years. Where you found Harold you would usually find Pat. They enjoyed bowling and playing euchre. Never shy about showing the young ones how to win. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland baseball and football teams play. They enjoyed spending time with their family. Getting together with their kids and their families as much as they could. They enjoyed watching all their kids and grandkids doing the things that made them happy. Whether that be sports, musicals, church programs or concerts. In addition to their 5 children, they were blessed with 11 grandchildren, Eric Arnett, Thomas (Miolani) Arnett, Sarah (Randy) Bring, Hayden Worrix, Kennedy Worrix, Anthony Amburgey, Kortney Worrix, Nathan Amburgey, Gracie Amburgey and 8 great grandchildren; Zoie Hall, Gage Hall, Peyton Arnett, Cole Arnett, Hailey Arnett, Caleb Bring, Hudson Bring and Adaline Arnett. Survived by brother; Lonnie Worrix, Sisters; Evelyn Worrix, Alice (Mike) Richardson, Leah (Dan) Ewald, Loretta (Dave) Bradley. Many nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers, John, Bill, Bradley, Bobby, Arthur. Sisters, Betty Pierce, Lola Barney & Thursie Bates. Grandsons, Hunter Worrix and Sam Hall and grand daughter Chelsea Arnett. This world lost a beautiful man, but we rejoice as we know he is heaven with Jesus and all those who went before him. Especially rejoicing with the love of his life his beloved Pat.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. at PickNaz Church 11775 Pickerington Rd. Pickerington, OH 43147. Where funeral service will be held Thursday, July 25 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Mark Maddux officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estates
