Harry Richard
Paini, Ii
Aug 7, 1955 — Feb 24, 2025
Harry Richard Paini, affectionately known as "Rich," passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, at the
age of 69.
Born on August 5, 1955, to David L. and Ruth Gail Paini, Rich was a proud Ohio native who followed his
passion for art by attending the Columbus College of Art and Design. He later built a successful 30-year
career with Iron Workers Local 172, officially joining on August 1, 1981 (book number 1066177). Among his
many contributions, Rich designed the iconic image of the Iron Worker climbing the column-a symbol still
used by the local today.
Rich was an accomplished model builder and painter, specializing in World War II airplanes and tanks. His
work, often entered into art competitions, earned several awards. He also loved working on his Jeep and
spending time with friends around the fire ring.
He is survived by his niece, Chrissy "Chris," her husband Barry, and their four children: Timara, Shayna,
Logan, and Cailah; four cherished great-grandnieces and nephews; and his sister-in-law, Dianna. Rich was
preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David.
