Helen
Creech
Apr 2, 1940 — Mar 10, 2026
Helen Creech went to be with the Lord in the late evening of March 9, 2026, at 11:43 pm at her home surrounded by her loving family. Her whole life came down to that very moment for her to walk with Jesus Christ. Helen was born on April 2,1940, to the late Clarence and Maude ( Lindsey) Genheimer in Columbus, Ohio where she grew up and went on to start her own family. In addition to her parents Helen is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Truman Creech Sr.; 7 of her 8 brothers and sisters, and her daughter-in-law, Sara Creech. Helen is survived by her two loving son's, Truman (Laurie) Creech Jr. and David Allen (Sara) Creech; four grandchildren, Tiffany Creech, Heather Jean Creech (Bill), Heather Nicole (Jordan) Rhoades, and Kimberly (Manny) Creech-Perez; many great grandchildren, Nyako, David, Emma, Ashton, Alaynia, Addison and Khloe; her last living sibling, sister, Jean (Jim) Wheeler; many nieces and nephews and loved ones. Helen moved their family to Tallassee, Alabama for many years where she became a very active member of Redlands Baptist Church. She then spent the remainder of her years back in Columbus close to her family and friends. She made many lasting memories with her family that will always remain so precious to us and last forever. She was the light at the end of a dark day and rock that kept us grounded when needed. She has taught many children throughout the years at Columbus Public schools as a Aid and also waitressed at the Columbus Mannerchor. The most important job was teaching the Lord to many people. She touched so many lives and will forever be in our hearts. Visitation for Helen will be held Monday March 16th from 4:00 pm until time of service at 6:00 pm at O. R. Woodyard Co. South Street Chapel.1346 South High St Columbus Ohio 43207. Fr. John Shump officiating. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to her family, Grand daughter Kimberly Creech -Perez. Helen will be laid to rest at Sunset Cemetery next to her husband. Please keep her family in your prayers 🙏
