Eleni Theofanou Michailidis , 94, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones in Columbus, Ohio on April 8, 2024. She was born on March 3, 1930 on the island of Lemnos, Greece. Eleni married her beloved husband Anastasios Michailidis in September of 1950 and became a loving wife and mother to her three children Maria, Vasilios, and Elizabeth.
Eleni always displayed her deep devotion to the Greek Orthodox Faith, a true disciple of Christ. Her favorite past time was her creativity in the kitchen always preparing feast like meals for her family. She was infinitely giving never asking for anything in return. A true mentor to her grandchildren and great grandchildren who adored her. There remains a feeling of proud thankfulness that has been bestowed upon us from her generation associated with this person of grace. She encompassed all that was genuine and pure that will forever be chiseled in our mind and in our heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband Anastasios, her parents Kosta and Elizabeth and granddaughter, Jacqueline. Eleni is survived by her children and their spouses Maria (Dimitri), Vasilios (Anita), Elizabeth) Michael grandchildren Annette, Vincent, Stasi, Peter, Gabriella, Jacob and Julian, great grandchildren Petro, Dimitri, William, Athena, Leo, and Luca, brothers Christo, Parry, sister Vaso and their respected spouses countless nieces and nephews throughout out United States and Canada.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 15th from 10:00 am until the time of funeral service at 11:30 am. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral 555 N. High .
