Herbert H. Lawson, age 87, passed away the afternoon of June 30, 2016. Born November 3, 1928 in Rogersville TN, to the late Hugh and Mary Lawson. He married his sweetheart Lucille Reed at the age of 19. They moved to Columbus, OH for work, and eventually made this their permanent home. He worked in different factories, as a carpenter, then as a car salesman for many years. Together they raised 10 children, who survive along with Lucille. They are Willard (Mary) Lawson, Floia Daniels, Ada Cleo Hinkle, Janice Sue (Terry) Sowers, Anita Mehler, Mary Sondra (Kevin) Garner, Joel (Debbie) Lawson, Kenny Lawson, Rodney (Robin) Lawson, and Tammie (Pete) Mihaly. Grandchildren include Bryan, Shawn, Malissa, Jonathan, Chad, Curtis, Steve, Billy, Tausha, Matthew, Aaron, Mark, Michael, Alisha, Susie, Ashley, Nicki, and Rachel; 22 great grandchildren; Sister Mildred Gibson of Church Hill, TN; Sister-in-law Bonnie Light of Rogersville, TN., friend Phil Kitsmiller of Canal Winchester, and a host of other relatives and friends. Herbert loved his family and the Lord, and took his family to church many years at West Broad Missionary Chapel, 1245 W. Broad St. He leaves behind many long time church friends. He knew we must have our sins forgiven by Jesus to get to heaven, and when questioned recently if he had anything to ask forgiveness for, he said "I already did that", and did not waiver in his faith in Christ. He made the heavenly landing safely. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 11 am - 1 pm at O. R. Woodyard and Co. South Chapel, 1346 S. High St., where funeral service will immediately follow at 1 pm. Rev. Amos Tillis and Rev. Gary Brugger officiating. Interment Sunset Cemetery.
