Herma Coons age 88, born in Lawrence County, Kentucky to the late parents Heman and Sarah Murphy on July 13, 1936.  She went to be with the Lord July 8, 2025.

Herma made her home in Chillicothe, Ohio for 29 years.  She enjoyed her family, friends playing bingo, traveling, making quilts, gardening, and nascar.  She worked for Arbors Health Center as head cook for 30 years before retiring.

She is preceded in death by her parents Herman and Sarah Murphy; husband, Charles (Chuck) Coons; sons, Earl Coons, Kenneth Bonner, Charles (Charlie) Coons, daughter, Teresa Coons.

Herma is survived by her son, Harvey (Bill) Coons; grandchildren, Tina and Francisco Rodriquez and their children Iyana, Francisco Jr, Aleyana (Bow) Rodriquez, Randy (Bub) Coons and his kids, John (Jr) Sampson and his kids. Niece, Sherrie and Rick Stanley and their children Sherrie Baxter, Jon, Ricky Stanley and many more grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be a gathering and visitation at the O. R. WOODYARD Company Funeral Home, 1346 S High St on Tuesday July 15, 2025 from 11 AM to 1 PM. A private burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
