Howard Newsome, of Pikeville, Kentucky, born on March 21st, 1950, passed away on February 8th, 2026, at his residence.

Howard proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. Howard worked for Lennox Industries for over twenty years and as a stagehand with the IATSE local 12, before retiring. He is preceded in death by his father, Emery Newsome, mother, Frankie Adams, brother, Ronnie Newsome and his sister, Brenda Henson. He is survived by his children, Brian Newsome (Jessica), Dawn Plantz (Joey), and Eric Newsome (Paula). He also leaves behind five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and beloved friends from The American Legion post 144 and Amvets post 1312. Howard loved the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Kentucky Wildcats. He had multiple hobbies from golfing, woodworking, jewelry making, fishing, hunting and volunteering for Charity Newsies.

Visitation will be held  February 14, 2026 from 4-6 pm with the service immediately following at  The O. R. WOODYARD Co. South Chapel, 1346 South High Street. A celebration of life we be held on Sunday, 02/15/26 from 2-5 pm at The American Legion Post 144 3253 S. High St. Columbus Ohio.
