Jack M. Roese, age 86, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at his home surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved. Formerly resided in South Bloomfield. U.S. Coast Guard Veteran of WWII. Formerly employed by the Jaeger Machine Co. of Columbus, before retiring from the Columbus Showcase Co. Enjoyed softball, playing cards, and camping. Member of VFW Post #7941 of S. Bloomfield. Preceded in death by parents, John N. Roese and Sadie F. Bragg; brother-in-law, Fred York. Survived by wife and soul mate of 66 years, Joanne Mary Roese (Merz); children, Jack Jr. (Mary Rita) and Christopher Lee (Linda Sue) Roese; grandchildren, Julie, Jill, Jackie and Joanna; 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Albert Jr. (Jewell) Roese, Pearl York, and William (Vera) Roese; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends including lifelong buddy, Berwyn Bragg.
