Obituary

Jack "Butch" Wesley Toops, 78, of Circleville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026. He was born on October 10, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Jack E. and Virginia Mae Toops.

Jack dedicated over 30 years of his life as a welder at Buckeye Steel before his retirement. Beyond his professional life, Jack was an avid motorcycle traveler, having explored every state in the continental U.S. except Alaska and Hawaii. He also loved his time by the ocean, particularly enjoying the Outer Banks on the East Coast.

He is preceded in death by his beloved sons, Jack E. Toops and Michael J. Toops.

Jack is survived by his devoted wife and co-traveler of over 60 years, Sharon; his loving daughters, Robin (Rick) Harris and Shannon (Jon) Underwood. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Caitlin E. (Theo) Toops, Krista R. Wend, Thomas M. (Kayla) Underwood, Mikayla M. (Casey) Jarrell, Hayden B. Underwood, and Tacy R. Underwood. Jack was a proud great-grandfather to James, Casey, and Calliope. He is also survived by his sisters, Kathleen Moore and Tammy Fillman and grandchildren of his heart, Zeke, Brent, Keith, Jimmy, Marissa and Nick. Celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 18th from 6:00 to 11:00 pm at The Southway Post 144 is located at 3253 S High St, Columbus, OH 43207.
