Jacob "Jake" Michael McGrew age 31 passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

Jacob is survived by his loving parents, Michael and Patti McGrew, brother Joshua (Brittney) McGrew, his beloved niece Kayleigh McGrew, nephew Joshua McGrew Jr., and grandparents Glenn and Paulette Crabtree.

He is also survived by his aunt Lisa (Rob) Richards, uncle David (Jan) McGrew, aunt Stephanie (Steve) Christman; his cousins Stevie (Sarah) Christman, Kyle (Bre) Richards, Courtney (Austin) Miller, Nikki (Ivan) Mast, Ryan (Jenica) Richards, all of their children who he loved and adored; his best friend Shane (Alissa) Allen, and goddaughter Kylie Allen.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Janet Allen, and close friends Ashani Leigh Pompey and Michael D. Hamilton Jr.

Jacob graduated from Franklin Heights High School, Class of 2013. He played Baseball, and Basketball. Jake was a life-long supporter of the Buckeyes, Bengals, Reds, and Lakers. He had many hobbies, like golfing with friends and family, collecting sports cards and memorabilia, and cooking for his family. Jake was an enthusiast of Star Wars, Pokémon, Lego, and Fantasy Football.

A celebration of life will be held at O. R. Woodyard South Chapel on Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 5 to 7 pm.

After the service there will be food and refreshments at the American Legion at 3253 S. High Street from 7 to 9 pm.

In honor of Jake, please wear whatever is most comfortable for the service, whether that be a jersey of one of his favorite teams, or formal wear.

In lieu of flowers, please consider giving blood or a charitable donation to the American Red Cross in memory of Jake.
