Jahaan Terrell Harris, Jr., affectionately known as "Hannie," passed away on Friday, June 14,
2024, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. Born on February 9, 1999, in
Columbus, Ohio, he was a beloved son of LaKisha Gossett and Jahaan T. Harris, Sr.
Jahaan graduated from the Academy for Urban Scholars High School and embarked on a
meaningful career journey. He started at Kroger Grocery Store before joining Cheryl's
Cookies and later found joy working with children at Bright Start Learning Center.
Known for his infectious smile and warm demeanor, Jahaan was a loving soul who never
knew a stranger. He was exceptionally kind, respectful, and deeply caring, touching the
lives of all who knew him. His passion for sports was evident, with the Pittsburgh Steelers
and the Alabama Crimson Tide holding special places in his heart for football, and the LA
Lakers as his favorite basketball team.
In his leisure time, Jahaan enjoyed playing video games with his brothers, with whom he
shared a close bond. He will be dearly missed by his brothers Ke'Juan, Jayon, and Dayon
Harris, Marquawn Conner, Tyrone and Kemonty Ackerman; sisters Keywana Conner and
DaJanee Harris; grandmother Deena L. Harris; grandfathers Horace L. Johnson and
Clarence R. Taylor; uncles Clarence Gossett and Jahmal L. Harris; aunts LaTasha (Brian)
Butts, Kamika (Michael) Sharp, and Kiara Gossett; great aunts Mary Smith, Dolores, and
Vivian Gossett; great uncles James, Russell, and Silas Gossett; and numerous nieces,
nephews, and special friends including Laraine Weaver.
Jahaan was preceded in death by his great grandmothers Ruth Harris Mack and Lillie Mae
Gossett; great grandfathers Charles L. Gossett, James Marcum, and William R. Mack; great
aunts Lenna Solomon and Charlotte Leigh; grandmother Julia Ann Gossett; Uncle Jamie
Garrett; Aunt Jasmine N. Muhammad; and cousin Tonique Thomas.
Though he has departed this life, Jahaan's spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved
him. He will forever be remembered for his gentle spirit, infectious laughter, and the kindness
he extended to everyone around him. May he rest in eternal peace. Pastor Timothy Blair Williams officiating.
