Jama Ann Paas (Martin), age 72, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026 with her family by her side.

Born on November 10, 1953, Jama was the beloved daughter of Gene and Evelyn Martin. She spent most of her life in Columbus, OH, but always considered the Village of Groveport her true home.

Jama was the devoted wife of Michael Paas and a proud, loving mother to Kelly (Mike) Myers, Rocco (Kayla) Paas, Marco (Andrea) Paas, and Aaron (Danielle) McKenzie. She was a cherished grandmother, affectionately known as "MooMoo," to many grandchildren whom she adored beyond measure.

She is also survived by her siblings: Bill Martin, Deborah (Martin) Slager, Azal-Lynn (Martin) Jones, Bret Jahn, and Brad Martin.

Jama worked as a school bus driver, mostly for Groveport Madison Schools and the last few years in Pickerington, where she became lovingly known to children as "Ms. Elmo." Her big, silly personality, gentle spirit, and kind heart made her unforgettable. She treated every child as if they were her own, and her bus was a place of laughter, safety, and care. She truly cherished every moment of it.

Those who knew Jama will remember her for her warmth, humor, compassion, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, joy, and unconditional love that will continue through generations.

Jama (MooMoo, Ms Elmo) Paas will be deeply missed and forever loved.

There will be a memorial gathering Monday, February 23, 2026 from 5pm until time of the memorial service at 7:30 pm at the MYERS-WOODYARD FUNERAL HOME 587 Main Street in Groveport.
