James Edward Holbrook, age 84, was born July 17, 1940 in Frankfort, Ohio

to the late Vincel and Alma Holbrook. He became a Christian in 1960 and was an

Ordained Baptist Minister since 1962. He served as Pastor, Evangelist, Teacher, and

Counselor to thousands. He was the Pastor of Columbus Enterprise Baptist Church

since 1972 and served in many capacities as a member of the Board of Directors of

the Enterprise Baptist Association. He served as a counselor volunteer at Enterprise

Baptist Youth Camp. He was a founding member and manager of the Gospel Light

Quartet along with his wife, Joyce and brother-in-law, Bruce Salyers, recording and

performing live at church events regularly. He was an Assistant Baseball Coach at

Sills Ballpark, coaching Little League Players who became lifelong friends who

continued to connect with him often. He was a licensed carpenter and a member of Carpenters Local 200.

Jim traveled many miles to sing and preach the Gospel and performed

countless weddings and baptisms throughout his ministry.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Joyce; son, Bryan Holbrook (Lisa Kaltenecker);

6 grandchildren, Dwain, Kimberly, Amanda, Jason, Matthew and Megan;  3 great grandchildren,

Arabella, Aniyah and Aidyn  whom he adored and loved spending time with; daughter-in-law,

Shirley Holbrook (Hensley); numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Jim was preceded in

death by sons, Dwain and Andrew Holbrook; daughter, Robin Watson; daughter-in-law,

Marinna Holbrook; infant brother, Dallas Holbrook as well as 2 older brothers, Hobert and Harold Holbrook.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 5-8 pm at the

O. R. WOODYARD FUNERAL HOME 1346 S. High Street where the

funeral service will be Thursday at 10:30 am. Reverend Joe Nelson and Reverend Rick Pelfrey

officiating. Special message by Bruce Salyers. Interment will follow in

Hickman Cemetery, Jackson, Ohio.
