James "Jim" Estel Lyons, age 82, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024. Jim was born November 22, 1941 in Portsmouth, OH to the late Estel and Dorothy Lyons. Jim is a proud U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from the Norfolk and Southern Railroad. He loved fishing, hunting and watching the Andy Griffith Show. Jim was a devoted Christian and a longtime member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. Jim was an outgoing and friendly man, who could strike up a conversation with anyone. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Ronda; daughters, Tina Harman, Vicky Lyons, and Jennifer (Scott) Linger; brother, Rick (Regina) Lyons; nieces, Elaine and Melanie; nephew, Greg; and many friends. Visitation will be Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 4701 Winchester Pike, Columbus, OH 43232. Pastor Tony Liuzzo officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens in Canal Winchester, OH. In lieu of flowers, Jim's family encourages memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association or have a tree planted in his memory.
