James Alvin Westervelt Sr. of Columbus Ohio, passed away June 1, 2025 at the age of 83. He was with his precious dog Marbles by his side and stepchildren David (Debby) and Christy. He was born September 15, 1942. He was enjoying his retirement from being a truck driver. He and his dog Marbles would often sit outside visiting neighbors and enjoying the hummingbirds visiting the feeder.

Preceded in death by his parents, Grace Walters and Harry Westervelt; ex-wife, Barbara Grubb Hardy; grandchildren, Nathan and Noah Hardy; brother and sister-in-law's, Marvena and Fred McKenzie, Gene and Ramona Grubb, Margaret and Don Snodgrass, Verna (Lee Lee) Swank, Rich Grubb and Christina Grubb.

Survived by his step children, David (Debby) Hardy and Christina (Mike) Steffy; many loved nieces and nephews, special friends, Bonnie, Gibby, Sue, Robert, Julie; and some family and friends who lost touch.

He loved fishing and boating at Deer Creek and visiting Orihoods boat shop for a cup of coffee. We pray he is in heaven at the Lord's beautiful lake.
