Jerry J. McVay, born January 9, 1927 in Sidney, Ohio, went home April 12, 2016. Graduate of Sidney High School. Served in Merchant Marines 1944-48. Began his career as an Engineer for The State of Ohio. Relocated to Columbus working for RW Wander in construction management and retired from Kokosing Construction. Jerry was a good man by any standard as those who knew and loved him were well aware. He is preceded in death by parents, Wilbur and Marjorie (Sturm) McVay; brother, Richard McVay; son, Bruce McVay. Survived by wife of 68 years, Patricia (Bunker) McVay; daughter, Cathy (Tom) Krebs; sons, Jim (Susie) McVay, Scott McVay, Mark (Karen) McVay and Jeff McVay; sisters, Jackie (Dick) Thoma and Marcia (Richard) Grigg; 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at O.R. Woodyard Co. Chapel, 1346 S. High St, Columbus, Ohio, from 12 noon until time of service at 2 pm.
