Jerry L. Mullins passed away unexpectedly on Friday November 13, 2020 at the age of 77 in Columbus, Ohio. Jerry was born on July 18, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio to Lonzo and Lynn Mullins (Compton). Jerry spent his time surrounded by his grandmother and cousins whileliving in Dickenson County during his youth. While reminiscing of his adolescence, Jerry spoke of the wonderful memories he held of fishing, swimming, and hunting with his cousins. Jerry was an incredibly knowledgeable individual and would often read and share about the types of local flowers, animals, trees, and nature in general with his two sisters, Joyce McNeely and Jennifer Mooney. .Jerry enjoyed spending his free time doing artistic activities such as drawing, painting, and some photography, which he would happily share with and show to his family. When given the chance, Jerry loved to draw homemade Christmas cards to send out every year to his family, with most cards coming with an interesting fact about history, nature, or personal/family history information. Jerry loved to research and study any and all things that piqued his interest, leaving whomever he spoke to amazed with the knowledge he held. Jerry had a particular curiosity for his family's genealogy and kept binders and folders full of years-old information on his family and heritage that had been passed down from elders and acquired through research. He will be remembered for his knowledge, artistic abilities, kind mindset, and his love for his close friends and family. Jerry will be greatly missed and appreciated by those who love him. Jerry Mullins was preceded in death by his mother, Lynn Mullins (Lynn Compton), his father, Lonzo Mullins, and his sister, Joyce McNeely (Joyce Mullins). Jerry is survived by his sister and her husband, Jennifer Mooney (Jennifer Mullins) and Steve Mooney; his children Jeff Mullins, Jill Jones (wife of Clay Jones), and Jaclyn Mullins, of Harriet Mullins (Kiser). Jerry also leaves behind six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three nieces, and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends. Due to the difficulties presented by the pandemic restrictions, a memorial service has not yet been arranged but is in the works.
