Jessie Ann Port, age 94, went to be with the Lord on April 5, 2022. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on Nov. 3, 1927, where she has lived her whole life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Zylpha and Logan Perry, her husband of 63 years, Harley T. Port, Jr., and all eight of her siblings. Jessie is survived by her son Randy (Nancy) Port, daughter Sharon (Jerry) Buechner, grandsons, Brian (Rilene) Port, Nathan Port, and granddaughter Christina Marcum. Great grandchildren Liam and Audrey Port, and Arianna and Jeremiah Marcum. Jessie went to school at Scioto Trail and South High schools. She worked 7 or 8 different jobs in her lifetime. She was a very loving, caring, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She also had a very close and special bond with her five sisters. She has always been kind, thoughtful, helpful, and giving. She was a Godly Christian woman who modeled honor and integrity throughout her life. She loved spending time with her family, friends, and neighbors. And she loved reading books, gardening, crocheting, quilting, sewing, baking and more. She was a very generous person, volunteered at church and school, and gave to charities and to those in need. She was a gentle soul, friendly, hardworking, and talented woman with a heart of gold. She has been a truly amazing gift to us and an admired wonderful blessing to our family. We will cherish our precious memories of her, and she will be greatly, greatly missed. Visitation will be held at O.R. Woodyard Funeral Home on S. High St. from 11:30 to 1:30 on Tues. April 12th and the service will be held immediately after.
