Joan Skufis
Phillips
Jun 25, 1932 — Oct 24, 2024
Joan Skufis Phillips passed away peacefully on October 24, 2024, at the age of 92 in Dublin, Ohio. Born on June 25, 1932, Joan was known for her easygoing nature, competitive spirit, and witty charm. She was a true sports enthusiast, particularly passionate about Ohio State football, and found joy in playing bridge, Scrabble and euchre, reading, solving puzzles, but mostly in spending time with her family.
A graduate of Columbus South High School, Joan was instrumental in helping with the family restaurants, and later became a successful Accountant/Office Manager. She also volunteered for years at the Greek festival and OSU football games to count concessions, giving her a free ticket to every game!
Joan is survived by her daughters, Lynn Stevens (Bob), Christy Grace, and Tammy Phillips; sisters, Stacey Kourlas (Chris) and Katina Salamanis; grandchildren, Joanna Spalding (Phinizy), Andrew Grace, and Lilith Grace, great-grandchildren, Robert and Camille Spalding, and several loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Helen Skufis; sister, Maria Kochensparger; and son, Steven Phillips.
A celebration of Joan's life will be held at The Barn, 5451 Edwards Farms Rd, on November 23, 2024, from 1-4 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mid-Ohio Food Collective in her memory. Joan's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
