Joel Keith
Gilbert
Apr 16, 1955 — Jun 19, 2026
Joel Keith Gilbert, 71, passed away at home on June 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Joel was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He shared his life with his beloved wife, Sheree, and found his greatest joy in his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Music was one of Joel's greatest passions. He loved playing the guitar and drums and was always ready to sing karaoke. Family gatherings often ended with everyone singing "Family Tradition," a song that became a tradition all its own and one that will forever bring smiles and memories to those who shared those moments with him. He also loved singing "Wonderful Tonight," and those who heard him sing it will always remember the love and warmth he put into every note. More than anything, Joel loved having his family together.
Joel is survived by his loving wife, Sheree; his children, Joanna (Richard Miles), Joey (Heather), Josh (Christina), Katie Malinis, Terri (Brandon Cockerham), Dylan (Alex), and Marie (Jack Franklin); and his cherished grandchildren, Jasmine, Jayla, Brayden, Anthony, Tessa, Miley, Camryn, Ava, Lennon, Parker, Jaxon, and Nash; siblings, Jackie Gilbert, Becky Gilbert and Johnny Gilbert.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Steven; his parents, Willie and Earnest Gilbert, Sr., and his siblings, Terry Gilbert and Earnest Gilbert, Jr.
Joel's love, laughter, music, and unwavering devotion to his family leave behind a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
And so, Dad, this one really is the last party we'll share with you here. But we know that whenever "Family Tradition" comes on and everyone starts singing, you'll be right there with us. Until we meet again, save us a seat and keep the music playing.
