John Davis, age 72, passed away on December 10, 2021. Born May 2, 1949 in O'Keeffe, WV to the late Mose and Roxie Davis. He served in the U.S. Army before starting and retiring from Superior Die, Tool and Machine Company, where he worked as a machinist.. John was a family man who loved spending time at family gatherings and taking day trips with his wife. He was a caring man who looked after others, helping with the care of his sister and mother-in-law as well as helping other family members around their homes. He enjoyed spending time outside, cutting the lawn, gardening and trips to the beach. He was also a man who loved to cook, especially anything you could make with a cast iron skillet. He is preceded in death by wife, Kathy Ann Davis. John is survived by wife, Kathryn J. Davis; daughters, Rhonda Jean Davis and Bobbi Jo Davis; step children, Shaun (Melissa) Libby and Nikki (Matt) Thomas; grandchildren, LaShae (Josh), Jordan (Rob), Harley (Tyler), Colton, Kylee (Joey), Aubrey, Baylee, Connor, Tyler Grace, and Carter; great grandchildren; Annaliese, Marshall, Naomie, Aria, Parker, Scarlett, Lincoln; siblings, Joyce Chafins and Connie Davis; nieces, Teresa, Monica, Marsha, Pam, and Debbie; many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 15, 5:00 - 8:00 pm at O. R. Woodyard Co. South Chapel, 1346 S. High St. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:30 am at Columbus First Christian Baptist 4185 Parsons Ave. Rev Jeremy Kamer officiating. Interment Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
